Who we are
Saliently Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17058611, registered office 18 Rosemary Gardens, London SW14 7HD. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Saliently Ltd is the data controller.
Contact: enzo@saliently.co.uk
ICO registration: ZC182040
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, because we are not required to.
We help organisations and individuals bring what truly matters into focus — through software engineering, AI strategy, education technology, and Italian language training. Italiano Online and Pollstone are trading names of Saliently Ltd and have their own privacy notices, because they collect different things. This notice covers this website.
What data we collect
When you contact us through the form on this site, we collect:
- Your name and email address (always);
- Your phone number and company name (only if you provide them);
- The path you selected (customer / vendor / business / government) and your context choices;
- The message you wrote to us;
- The timestamp of your submission, and a hashed indicator of your network and browser (not your raw IP or User-Agent) — used only to detect and block spam.
That is everything. We keep no separate copy of the raw submission.
We do not use cookies on this site. We do not run analytics of any kind. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Why we collect it
Our lawful basis is your consent, given by ticking the box on the form and recorded with the timestamp of your submission. The purpose is to answer you.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, and we will delete what we hold. Withdrawing it does not make what we did beforehand unlawful.
We do not profile individuals, and we do not use enquiry data for outreach to people who did not ask to hear from us.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry while we are dealing with it. When we are finished, we mark it for deletion and an automated job permanently removes it 30 days later.
If you ask us to delete it sooner, we delete it straight away — not within 30 days, immediately, on the day you ask. Email enzo@saliently.co.uk.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you and get a copy of it. You can ask us to correct it. You can ask us to delete it, in the cases the law provides for. You can ask us to restrict what we do with it, and you can object — including to anything we do on the basis of legitimate interests. You can ask for the data you gave us in a portable form. Where consent is our basis, you can withdraw it at any time; withdrawing it does not make what we did beforehand unlawful.
We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
To use any of them, email enzo@saliently.co.uk. If you want a portable copy, we send it as JSON.
Third parties
Two services handle your data in the course of normal operation:
- Cloudflare — provides the network and tunnel that make this site reachable. Cloudflare may log request metadata such as IP address and timing for the duration of the connection.
- Our own database — PostgreSQL, running on our own infrastructure. Your enquiry is not handed to a third-party form provider.
We also use Telegram to alert us that an enquiry has arrived. That alert is deliberately content-free: it carries only the category you selected and a reference number, and nothing in it lets Telegram identify you. Your name, email, phone, company and message are never sent to Telegram — they stay in our own database, behind a password.
Where your data is
Your enquiry is stored on our own infrastructure in the United Kingdom.
Cloudflare operates globally, so traffic reaching this site may be routed through servers outside the UK. Cloudflare relies on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, with the UK Addendum or standard contractual clauses where those apply.
Complaints
Come to us first. If that does not settle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office — ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. You do not have to come to us first.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice in a way that materially affects how we handle your data, we will note the change at the top of this page and, where appropriate, contact you directly.
